In Tavern Brawl, each player chooses 5 character classes (considered units) which make up their very own adventuring party. The Tavern (game board) is created using modular tiles that can be arranged in many ways. Obstacles are placed throughout the tavern. Every turn players may activate up to three of their Units. When activated, a Unit can move, punch, or use its unique power. When a Unit receives wounds equal to its Life value it's defeated, and removed from play. The first player to defeat the others Units wins the game! They have set an expected delivery date of December 2014

How could I not back this game? With a title like this you'd expect the worst and are looking to get a truly abysmal game. A card game embracing everything one could hate about games, gaming & gamers created to be silly but turned out to be a fun little game
I am so excited that they have decided to digitise one of the best 2 player board games in existence - Their Kickstarter is a great project! Twilight Struggle inherits its fundamental systems from the card-driven classics We the People and Hannibal: Rome vs. Carthage. In that tradition, it is a challenging strategy game of medium complexity that presents new and different challenges with every game session. The game map is a world map of the period, whereon players move units and exert influence in attempts to gain allies and control for their superpower. As with GMT's other card-driven games, decision-making is a challenge; how to best use one's cards and units given consistently limited resources? Twilight Struggle's Event cards add detail and flavor to the game. They cover a vast array of historical happenings, from the Arab-Israeli conflicts of 1948 and 1967, to Vietnam and the U.S. peace movement, to the Cuban Missile Crisis and other such incidents that brought the world to the brink of nuclear annihilation. Subsystems capture the prestige-laden Space Race as well as nuclear tensions, with the possibility of game-ending nuclear war. By moving to digital platforms, players will have more freedom playing the game than the physical board game allows. The digital version will include a game tutorial to help players understand the game fairly quickly, AI opponents to allow you to sharpen your skills, pass-and-play multiplayer, and both asynchronous and real-time online play so you always have a way to fit playing time in!
A digital card and board game of heroes and high-adventure set in the fairy-tale animal kingdom of Armello! As computer and video games go; this game 'Armello' is awesome! - You get to play animal human hybrids in a medieval setting. I saw this project on kickstarter and just had to back it, because I want to play it, so bad! The King, once Armello's wise and benevolent ruler, has fallen ill to a dark and mysterious force known only as the Rot. Slowly eating his body and soul, the Rot twists him deeper and deeper into madness. In response, Armello's Great Clans have called forth their Heroes to claim the throne of Armello; and this is where you start your adventure, Hero As a 'Hero' from one of the Great Clans of Armello, you'll quest, scheme, explore, vanquish monsters, perform the Mad King's royal edicts and face off against other players with one ultimate end goal in mind — storming the palace and becoming king or queen of Armello! There's no boring down time in Armello. After you hit the 'End Turn' button you'll be busy equipping items, recruiting followers and purchasing talents in your hero's unique talent tree. Maybe you're playing cards to the board as Perils for other heroes to stumble into or perhaps you're playing cards to strike up temporary allegiances... they're always temporary.
Sometimes you come across a game concept that is just beautiful. This game was offered on Kickstarter as a entertaining game and well designed learning tool, and the art is just so polished. I still haven't got a full idea how this game works, but it it looks too beautiful to pass it by. I really wanted to be a part of it and become an owner of it. Especially as it is offered as an educational, factual game. Migration is a unique, area-control, fantasy game where 'nations' vie for valuable New World territory over generations of conquest
Back Story By the hundreds, creatures are emigrating from the Old World in search of hope and prosperity. The New World offers endless opportunity, but only to those who arrive first. In this clever game, players seek out territories to conquer and compete for the most fertile properties, making critical decisions to gain the advantage. Migration is a land-grabbing game in which players play unique pieces on a board in order to claim territory. Each piece is treated differently, ignores certain rules or creates new conditions according to its type. Players continue to settle in regions while remaining careful to not upset opponents, walk into traps or restrict one's own growth options. There is a full (Early Draft) PNP available. It seems simple enough, and it is, but there's a real depth to each decision and no two games play the same. I like games like Pirate Fluxx and Beanz and other card combination games that make the predictable, well.. unpredictable. I want a game like that to have a theme and backstory. I want to have fun and have a laugh with my mates playing a silly, but involving game - Heroes Wanted is a tactical card / board game combining fun with strategy. It is also unique that it has a single player option! Heroes Wanted by Action Phase is a tactical board game for 1-5 superhero hopefuls, attempting to fulfill their dreams of becoming a member of Zeta City’s exclusive crime fighting super team: The Champions of Zeta City. Each time you play, you will create a unique superhero comprised of two hero cards. You will then choose a scenario and face a different villain (or villains), but the objective remains the same: gaining as much fame as possible by KO’ing minions, completing headlines, and thwarting the villain. At the end of each game, the superhero with the most fame is the winner.
There is a YouTube video available showing the game being played. With over 1,000 possible superhero combinations, four different scenarios, and over 100 potential villains, no two games will ever be the same! Whether you are playing solo, in campaign mode, or duking it out against other eager crime fighters, Heroes Wanted offers a near limitless amount of replayability and customization. This is a long time anticipated game that I cannot wait to play. Fief is a game of dynastic ambition, where players assume the roles of nobles in the 15th century Kingdom of France Fief is a French language boardgame classic and is being re-introduced by Academy Games in English with updated rules, cards and map board The game board represents a portion of the Kingdom of France in the Middle Ages. Villages have square outlines that are connected by roads that allow Lord and Troop movement. The villages are grouped into eight colored background areas that represent individual Fiefs, which are domains given to Lords to preside over.
A game close to my heart and interest. I like the novelty of learning about beer making in a workers placement kind of game. The makers of the game have used the Agricola and Puerto Rico dynamics and made them their own. Hopeful to receive this before Christmas. A unique blend of Euro gaming sensibilities and American brewing pride for 2 to 5 players. "Euro Style. American Finish." It's a time of regrowth in the old urban center, and the hippest and best beer crafters have gathered both hops and hopes in building the best brewery in the city. It won't be an easy task, as players compete for precious ingredients such as malt, yeast, fruit and spices in the local markets, all while managing and optimizing their growing bottling empires. In Brew Crafters, players assume management of a local craft brewery, working hard to manage resources, use their workers wisely, and develop their brewing line to create the best local brews. Players can perform research into different beer styles, brewing recipes such as Smoked Porter, Pumpkin Ale, and Coffee Stout, crafting their own unique brewing strategy along the way.
As a big boardgame fan and player it is almost impossible NOT to back one. I wanted this to be in line with the games I like to play. I have a few friends with whom I play boardgames every so often. I wanted to introduce a new game that we all would like to play. This project on Kickstarter was right up my street and I got a great quality product and playable game out of it! The details are amazing. I actually helped Stonemeier Games in translating the rule book into Dutch and got credited for it in the booklet and online. Jamey Stegmeier is a games developer veteran and is also helping other designers out.
